2 Arrested After Traffic Stop On Route 16 In Webster

Over $3,000 worth of marijuana and $900 in cash was found during a traffic stop on Route 16 in Webster this week.  Webster Police say that an officer spotted a driver with an outstanding warrant near Honey Farms on Tuesday, August 20th around 10AM.

The operator of the vehicle was identified as 28-year-old Ruben Viruet-Stevens of Worcester.  While being placed in custody, the officer noticed a large amount of money and marijuana shavings scattered around the front seats of the car.

A passenger, 34-year-old Allan Putelis of May Street in Webster, was also removed from the vehicle.

After searching the suspects and the vehicle, police say more money was found, along with another bag of marijuana and a digital scale.  In the trunk, 2 larger bags of marijuana was located.

Putelis and Viruet-Stevens were charged with possession of a class D substance with the intent to distribute and conspiracy to violate the drug law.

Both parties were arraigned on August 21st in Dudley District Court.
