2 Arrested On Drug Charges In Charlton

On Friday, December 8th, as a result of an ongoing investigation into drug distribution in the area, Detectives and Officers from the Charlton Police Department, along with Task Force Officers from the South Worcester County Counter Crime and Drug Task Force, executed a search warrant for narcotics at 22 Harrington Road, apartment #26 in Charlton.

Upon arriving at the residence, Officers knocked and announced their presence; however, individuals inside refused to answer.  Once entry was made, the target of the search warrant, Edwin Barreto, was searched and found to have approximately 6 grams of a white powdery substance consistent with cocaine.

A further search of the apartment found Emmanuel Rodriguez had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Six films of Suboxone were found in a child’s bedroom, of which Mr. Rodriguez claimed ownership. Additionally, scales and other drug packaging materials were discovered in the apartment.

A search of a vehicle parking lot yielded 32 Gabapentin pills.

The two subjects were arrested on scene an charged with the following:

Edwin Noel Barreto (32) of 22 Harrington Road, Apt #26, Charlton, MA
Possession with intent to distribute a class B substance
Possession with intent to distribute a class E substance

Emanuel Rodriguez (20) of 7 Russell Street, Apt#2, Worcester, MA
Possession of a class B drug
Warrant
