Southbridge Police

The Southbridge Police Department has been busy.  It seems every week we are reporting a major drug bust in the area.  Last week it was our famous friend, who had an unfortunate accident. The week before it was these 3 who got caught.

This week, on Monday, April 2nd, Southbridge Detectives and officers from the Southern Worcester County Counter Crime and Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at the first floor apartment of 23 Wardwell Court in Southbridge.  The search warrant was the result of a lengthy ongoing investigation into the sale and distribution of narcotics.

As a result of the search warrant, approximately 55 packets of suspected heroin packaged for distribution, approximately 30 grams of suspected crack cocaine packaged in 86 individual bags for distribution, more than $7,000 in cash, digital scales and other packaging materials were recovered.

Southbridge Police arrested 39 year old Abnel Colon at the scene and charged him with possession with intent to Distribute Class A Heroin, possession with intent to distribute Class B Suboxone, trafficking in Class B Crack Cocaine, two counts of possession with intent to distribute a class E drug (unknown tablets recovered on scene to be tested by drug lab).

Colon was held at Southbridge Police Headquarters pending his release on bail and his arraignment in Dudley District Court on Tuesday April 3, 2018.
