Chepachet Man Killed In Putnam Crash

A serious crash on Route 44 in Putnam on Saturday afternoon left one man dead and another injured.

Connecticut State Police say 94 year old Raymond Breault of Pascoag was driving east near Tucker Hill Road while 70 year old Roland Marois of Chepachet was driving west just after 2:15PM.

According to police, Breault’s vehicle is believed to have crossed over the double yellow line and hit Marois’s vehicle before coming to a stop in the middle of the road.

Both drivers were transported to UMass Medical Center with serious injuries.  Marois later died from his injuries.

The accident is under investigation, and anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call Connecticut State Police at (860) 779-4900.
