Talk about quite a bang for Sturbridge Police.  On Wednesday, June 20th they had conducted a traffic stop on Route 20 near Applebees.  When they were finishing up with that an officer saw a box of fireworks in plain view inside of a parked car.

After a brief search, 4 grams of powder cocaine and two boxes of fireworks were found.  The owner of the vehicle, a 31 year-old Sturbridge woman, was arrested and charged with possession of a class B substance and possessing fireworks.

The passenger, a 38 year-old Southbridge man, will be summoned to court on related charges.

Sturbridge Police remind you that it is illegal for private citizens to use, possess, or sell fireworks in Massachusetts, or to purchase them legally elsewhere and then transport them into the state.
