We’re keeping it all in the family on this edition of Get Your Local On!

Timmy Canty is the youngest of 10 siblings (6 sisters and 3 brothers) and recently participated in the Special Olympics in Seattle.  He swims regularly at the YMCA in Worcester, is a member of the Seven Hills Barracuda Swim Team and works at Dooley’s Cleaners in Auburn.

He was chosen as one of 50 athletes from Massachusetts to take part in the national games in July after achieving a gold medal in swimming at the state level.  With such a large amount of support from family and friends, Timmy was the number 1 fundraiser in Massachusetts, raising over $5,000 for Special Olympics.  The Canty’s encourage you to support the organization, either by donating your time or money, as it has been a rewarding experience in many ways.

Take a listen to Timmy’s uplifting journey, as he is joined in studio with 2 of his sisters; Moira Cristy, and Tara Bennett talking about Timmy’s trip to Seattle to participate in the Special Olympics.
