On Sunday afternoon, crews are on scene of a 5 vehicle crash on Route 20 West in Auburn.  Traffic is building and very slow in the area in both directions.  At least 1 person has been transported to a local hospital with injuries. Traffic is also extremely slow, most likely Thanksgiving travelers returning home after the holiday, on Routes 84, 90 (MassPike) and Route 20 from the Southbridge area through Strubridge into Charlton and to the accident scene in Auburn. Temperatures in the single digits overnight in Central Massachusetts didn’t deter shoppers looking for bargains.  The Leicester Police Department posted this photo to Facebook just after 3AM on Friday morning. Police say, “Many waited in line for several hours to be among the first to get into the store.”  Officers were at the scene to keep an eye on things, but there were no reports of any issues.   With temperatures in the teens, and wind chills below zero on Thanksgiving morning, fans of Bartlett High School’s Indians and Southbridge High School’s Pioneers braved the cold to watch the 99th annual Thanksgiving Day football game.  Likely, the coldest Thanksgiving Day game ever between these 2 teams. The National Weather Service and AccuWeather are expecting record-breaking cold weather as we get ready to spend time with family and friends on Thanksgiving. An arctic cold front is going to bring blustery conditions to Southern New England, Wednesday night through Friday morning.  High temperatures on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, may not even reach 25 degrees.  Lows will be in the teens.  Wind chills are expected to be sub-zero to single digits. Legal adult marijuana sales have begun in Massachusetts on Tuesday.  Retailers in Leicester and Northampton opened their doors this morning, becoming the first legal pot shops on the east coast.  Massachusetts is the seventh in the nation to establish a regulated marijuana market for adults. People age 21 and older with a valid ID will be able to purchase up to one ounce of marijuana from licensed marijuana retail stores, of which no more than five grams can be in concentrate form.  It will still be illegal to consume marijuana in public, and crossing state lines with it is also against the law.  According to the Cultivate website, an ounce of marijuana is around $350.…

A serious crash on Route 44 in Putnam on Saturday afternoon left one man dead and another injured. Connecticut State Police say 94 year old Raymond Breault of Pascoag was driving east near Tucker Hill Road while 70 year old Roland Marois of Chepachet was driving west just after 2:15PM. According to police, Breault’s vehicle is believed to have crossed over the double yellow line and hit Marois’s vehicle before coming to a stop in the middle of the road. Both drivers were transported to UMass Medical Center with serious injuries.  Marois later died from his injuries. The accident is under investigation, and anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call Connecticut…

Around 7AM on Saturday morning, November 17th, Worcester Police were dispatched to Shamrock Street for a report of a possible stabbing. Upon arrival, officers observed 31 year old Octavia Orcutt of Southbridge outside of a home there.  Officers stayed with her while others attempted to locate possible victims. Inside a nearby apartment, officers located a male and female who were afraid to open the door.  The male was bleeding from his hand and appeared to have been stabbed, and the female had serious slash wounds on her face. Police determined that Orcutt had stabbed the male and the female with a piece of broken glass after a dispute inside the residence.  Both victims were transported…
