Oxford Police, Fire and EMS were on the scene of a very serious 2 vehicle collision on Comins Road in North Oxford on Friday afternoon just before 1PM.  Two pickup trucks were involved, with one truck flipping over onto its roof. Oxford Police say one driver was transported to a local hospital for treatment and will be charged with multiple offenses including operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Talk about quite a bang for Sturbridge Police.  On Wednesday, June 20th they had conducted a traffic stop on Route 20 near Applebees.  When they were finishing up with that an officer saw a box of fireworks in plain view inside of a parked car. After a brief search, 4 grams of powder cocaine and two boxes of fireworks were found.  The owner of the vehicle, a 31 year-old Sturbridge woman, was arrested and charged with possession of a class B substance and possessing fireworks. On Tuesday June 19th, Worcester Police Vice Squad officers were keeping an eye the area around Dippin’ Donuts at 1001 Main Street. Just after 7PM they saw three people sitting inside the restaurant who appeared to be waiting for someone. They observed a truck pull up to the drive-thru line.  Inside the truck they saw 58 year old Ronald Stultz of Worcester and a female later identified as 48 year old Susan Perdomenico. The three individuals left Dippin’ Donuts as soon as they saw the truck. Caught in the act! A man is seen on security footage walking up a driveway and trying to get into unlocked vehicles in North Grosvenordale. THE LAKE 940 spoke with Jeannie Korona-Treveloni who caught the prowler with her surveillance cameras on Vandall Street.  She told us, “My dogs have been barking in middle of night on and off since last week.  When I get up I can hear a car running. The Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles has announced applications for the 2018 Low Number Plate Lottery are now being accepted online or by mail. Registrar Erin Deveney said, “We are pleased to once again offer low plate vehicle numbers through a lottery system.  We always have a high level of demand for license plates with very few numbers or very few letters.” This year, there are 201 plates up for grabs through the lottery including 1400, 2558, 4J, Y4, 55Z, 77V, and Z81. Last year the Registry received over 11,000 applications, for 162 plates.  The RMV says that applications must be received online or be postmarked by August 28 in order for the applicant to be…

On Monday June 18th, Auburn Police arrested Bryous Sanders of Worcester in connection to several recent break-ins in the Pakachoag Street area of town. Police pulled over a gray Toyota with only one license plate and noticed gloves and a small pry bar on the floor of the car at the passenger’s feet. The passenger was identified as Bryous Sanders of Worcester. Sanders is known to police from a previous series of breaking and enterings that were committed in the exact same area in 2015.  Sanders was convicted of these crimes and served a 2-3 year jail sentence before being released on probation recently. Just before 6AM on Saturday, June 16th Detectives and Officers from the Webster Police Department in association with the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council SWAT team, executed a search warrant for narcotics on the second floor of 12 Emil Street. Just after 3PM on Saturday, June 16th, the Webster Fire Department was dispatched to a dumpster fire in the driveway of 47 Hillside Avenue. The amazing crew from Engine 3 arrived at the scene and began to battle the blaze within 3 minutes.  The quick actions by firefighters helped to bring the flames under control using a foam minimizing damage to the home.
