Webster Police Arrest 2 On Drug Charges After Traffic Stop

On Thursday night, August 16th at around 9:30 PM, Officer Michael O’Leary of the Webster Police Department was patrolling the area when he observed a license plate with no registration sticker affixed to it.  Once the plate was looked up, he found the registration was reported stolen and had been revoked due to insurance cancellation.

After pulling the vehicle over and approaching the driver, a scale and money was found stuffed between the driver’s seat and center console.

As a result of an investigation, the driver, 36 year old Randy Murhammer of Falmouth and was identified as Randy Murhammer, and Kevin Wood, of Dudley were found to be in possession of a small baggie containing a white powder, which was believed to be methamphetamine.  A police K9 was requested, and Marlboro Police Sergeant Ken McKenzie and his partner Kaiser arrived to assist.

As a result of the K9 search, a container was located an Arizona Iced Tea can with a false bottom, which contained more of what appeared to be methamphetamine.  In total 23 grams of were seized. It is believed the value to be around $1700.

Murhammer was charged with conspiracy to violate the controlled substance law, trafficking more than 18 grams of methamphetamine, possession of a class B substance with the intent to distribute, and several motor vehicle violations.

Wood was also charged with conspiracy to violate the controlled substance law, possession of a class B Substance (subsequent offense), trafficking more than 18 grams of methamphetamine and furnishing a false name upon arrest.  He was also arrested an on outstanding warrant from Dudley District Court

Both were held at the Webster Police Department on $1040 bail and transported to Dudley District Court for arraignment today.
