On Friday, February 2, 2018, members of Worcester’s Neighborhood Response Team were set up in the Main South portion of the city, conducting surveillance near 30 Chandler Street, a known area for loitering and drug activity.

With a supervisor monitoring the area, he observed what appeared to be a drug transaction take place.  The suspected seller was identified as 45 year old Brant Gauthier of 155 Hammond Hill Road in Charlton.

After a brief conversation with the buyer, the person produced a piece of crack cocaine that was just purchased from Gauthier.  The officer seized the drugs and the buyer decided to cooperate with police, so a summons to appear in court for the possession of Class B Substance was issued and they were free to go.

With the supervisor now possessing the evidence, other officers approached Gauthier in front of 674 Main Street and placed him under arrest.

Gauthier was charged with Trespassing and Distribution of a Class B Substance.  He will be arraigned on Monday, February 5th in the Worcester County District Courthouse.
