Danielson, CT Fugitive From Justice Arrested

On December 20th at approximately 6:30 PM, Trooper’s from the Connecticut State Police Troop D Quality of Life Task Force arrested 39 year old Alexis “Butter” Sanchez of Danielson for being a fugitive from justice.  Sanchez, who was located on Main Street in Danielson, held an active felony/extraditable arrest warrant in the State of New York. Sanchez was transported back to Troop D, processed and held on a $250,000 cash/surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Danielson Superior Court today.   Troopers were assisted by members of the Danielson Adult Probation Department.

The Dudley Police Department collected donations for needy families during the holiday season.  Many people and area businesses made generous contributions to this worthwhile cause.  A large volume of toys, clothing, and other gifts were provided to Dudley residents who needed assistance during these difficult times.  These were distributed on Wednesday, December 20th. There are tons of scam artists out there, and nobody is immune to them.  Even Uxbridge Police Chief Jeffrey Louie was targeted by a scammer on his phone.  He shared this text on Facebook reminding people to not fall for texts or calls that seem too good to be true. Oxford Police and Fire/EMS responded to a serious 2 car accident on Tuesday afternoon after 5PM.  Two people were transported from the scene to UMASS University Hospital with reports of injuries.  Preliminary investigation by police indicates a vehicle was turning left onto Main Street from Dana Road when it was struck by a vehicle travelling North on Main Street (near Carolo’s Pizza, in front of where the Police Station used to be.) In a Facebook post announcing this accident, the Oxford Police Department also reminded people that it is a good idea to “Buckle up, every trip, every time!”

On Tuesday night, Worcester Police along with assistance from Peabody Police and the Massachusetts State Police arrested 56 year old of Steven Foley of Northborough on an outstanding warrant in relation to the burning car found in Hope Cemetery in Worcester last week. Foley was transported to Worcester for booking and was arraigned in Worcester District Court on Wednesday morning.  The investigation into the burning car, and body found inside at the cemetery continues.  A woman was found burned inside the vehicle, it is currently being investigated as a homicide. On December 18th, Connecticut State Troopers were dispatched to Danielson Adult Probation Office for a report of a client selling drugs in the lobby. Troopers arrived on scene and were informed by Probation Officers that a client, 35 year old Eric Starr of Thompson tried to sell heroin to other clients in the waiting area of the Probation Office. Starr was found to be in possession of “DABs”, Suboxone and a hypodermic needle. Starr was placed under arrest and transported to Troop D in Danielson where he was processed and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and held on a $5,000 cash/surety bond.  Starr is scheduled to appear in Danielson Superior Court on January…

An arrest warrant has been issued by the East Brookfield District Court for the arrest of 47 year old Lysa Graves in connection with a larceny from the North Brookfield Cumberland Farms on December 13th. Graves is alleged to have entered the Cumberland Farms, distracted the cashier and stole a Toys For Tots donation container with an unknown amount of cash. At this time the location of Ms. Graves is unknown, however she is believed to be residing in Worcester. Graves is being charged with one count of Larceny Under $250.00.  If anyone knows her whereabouts, you are encouraged to contact your local police department.

On December 19 at approximately 3:15 PM, members of the Plainfield Police Department were dispatched to the area of Deibler Lane at its intersection with Black Hill Road in the Central Village section of Plainfield for a reported male with a firearm. Upon arrival, Plainfield Police officers, assisted by the Connecticut State Police, conducted an immediate search of the area. The male was subsequently located in the wooded area and there was an exchange of gunfire. The male subsequently fled on foot into the woods. Last night, selectmen in Webster voted 4 to 1 not to renew town accountant Pamela Leduc’s contract when it expires in July.  She will remain on the payroll until then, but will not report to work. There were many concerns raised by Town Administrator Douglas Willardson, who pushed for voting Leduc out of her position.  A report from the Department of Revenue showed several concerns including the need to address deficiencies in financial management practices. The report states Webster has been unable to fulfill some responsibilities including reconciling cash and receivables to submit reports to the DOR’s Division of Local Services, which could put Webster in the position of losing state aid. Double Stabbing In Woonsocket

Police in Woonsocket are investigating a double stabbing that occurred shortly after 7PM on Monday night. One victim suffering from serious injuries was transported to Landmark Medical Center.  The stabbing is believed to have occurred on or near the Hamlet Avenue footbridge.  A second victim arrived at the same hospital a short time later. Both victims are male adults in their late teens and both had to be transferred to Rhode Island Hospital for further treatment. Police Chief Thomas Oates says that it appears the two men met at the footbridge and had an altercation that led to the stabbings.
