Route 12 in Webster was closed for a short time on Tuesday evening near K-Mart while the Webster Fire Department was on the scene of a fire at a small home located at 85 Worcester Road. Mutual aid was called in from Dudley. According to records, the mobile style home is 2 bedrooms and 672 square feet. The Lake 940 has learned at a 90 year old woman lives in the home and was able to get out safely. This time it was a smaller Ford Van that went off the road and hit a telephone pole on Dodge Road. The vehicle was transporting pre-schoolers at the time of the accident. One student, the bus driver and bus monitor were all transported to UMass Medical Center with various injuries. Shortly after 6 PM authorities were dispatched to the restaurant for a reported person overdosing in the bathroom. It was later reported the person was in cardiac arrest. This building has served the citizens of Thompson for more than a century and is now in need of a roof. The building, listed on the National Historic Register, was constructed in 1902 through the efforts of Ellen Larned, famed historian and first female member of the prestigious Connecticut Historical Society.
