One person was transported to a local hospital after a motorcycle crashed on Putnam Hill Road in Sutton on Thursday. In a post on Facebook, the department thanked 2 bystanders for calling police and helping at the scene. The identity of the driver, or cause of the crash, was not released.

The blaze quickly became a 2 alarm fire with mutual aid brought in from Auburn, Oxford and Southbridge. Within 10 minutes the fire was already showing through the roof of the unoccupied building. The fire department says the bulk of the fire was located on the upper level of the home as crews worked to knock it down from the inside. It happened just before 6PM on Monday where a tractor trailer truck and an SUV collided, leaking fuel all over the road. The Department of Environmental Protection was notified of the spill. One person had to be extricated from one of the vehicles. Names of those involved, or their conditions were not released. The cause of the crash is under investigation. The road was closed for several hours while debris was cleaned up and police conducted an investigation. According to Southbridge Fire Department, hospital staff described a package having a foul odor, and requested that it be checked out.
