UPDATE: 1 Killed In Head-On Crash On Route 131 In Dudley

On Sunday morning just after 9AM, Dudley Police, Fire and Emergency crews responded to a 2 vehicle head-on collision on Route 131 (Southbridge Road) near the intersection of Mill Road.

Police say the crash occurred on the bridge spanning the Quinebaug River.  One vehicle was driven by a 22 year old male from Southbridge, while the other was operated by a 68 year old male from Woodstock.  Both people were transported to local hospitals in serious condition.

Traffic was detoured for a short time during the investigation.

On Monday afternoon, Dudley Police updated the situation, stating 68 year old John Waleski, of Woodstock was still hospitalized in stable condition.  22 year old Quinn Paul of Southbridge from injuries sustained in the crash.  A Life Flight helicopter was used to transport him to UMass Medical Center in Worcester.

No charges have been filed at this time and the cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Dudley Police Department, members of the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council, and the Office of District Attorney Joseph Early.
