A big truck and low-hanging wires lead to this telephone pole snapping in half on Dresser Hill Road in Charlton on Tuesday afternoon. The roadway was shut down for several hours while National Grid worked on replaced the pole.  No one was injured in the accident.

Have you seen Einstein?  We have been getting calls and e-mails about the Webster Lake Association’s Ice Out contest.  It appears Einstein has fallen through the ice and has been removed.  We haven’t heard about a winner of the contest yet, but it appears he fell through the ice before the closing of the deadline on February 19th. The Webster Lake Association told The Lake 940, “Einstein fell through late yesterday afternoon. The contest will now be a raffle. I will forward the winners when they are determined. The Uxbridge Police Department and detectives assigned to the Blackstone Valley Drug/Counter Crime Task Force executed a search warrant at 8 Briggs Street in Whitinsville.  The crimes were related to a business breaking and entering of Wolfpack Vapor located at 13 Mendon Street in Uxbridge,  where approximately $10,000 worth of product was taken. Much of the stolen content was recovered and 19 year old Joseph Taylor of Whitinsville and 20 year old Lydia Schlegel of North Brookfield were  taken into custody.  Both are being charged with breaking and & entering in the nighttime to commit a felony, larceny over $250 and destruction of property over $250.  They will be arraigned in Uxbridge District Court on Tuesday,…

Anthony’s Italian Grill on the Oxford/Auburn line, and paid for their meal using a counterfeit bill. There have been several fake bills being passed around the Auburn area in recent weeks, so it is possible the couple did not know that the bill was not real, but the Oxford Police Department is hoping you can identify them so they can be questioned.  If you do recognize them, you are asked to contact Officer Gagner at (508) 987-0156 in reference to case number 18-70-OF.

On Tuesday morning, February 13th just after 7:30, Leicester Police were dispatched to a serious 2 vehicle crash on Route 9 near Walmart.   The car (shown above) rear-ended the pickup truck (shown below) that had stopped for a school bus.  There were no injuries reported.  After an investigation, the operator of the car was issued a citation.

Have you seen Richard Schutte?  His family is desperate for help trying to find him.  He was last seen at Independence Hall, a recovery center in Shrewsbury, in late January. Kim Jones says that it is very unusual for him to go more than a day or 2 without making contact with his daughter, pictured above. As of 7AM on Sunday morning, Uxbridge Police tell us that North Main Street at Snowling Road to Hazel Street is CLOSED until National Grid can replace a telephone pole in that area.  Power is expected to be out for the rest of this morning, the road is expected to re-open early this afternoon.
