Connecticut State Police have placed a Monson man under arrest after a threat was made against the school he works at. 58 year old David Wachta, a school custodian at the Stafford Middle School in Stafford, CT was arrested after another staff member overheard him allegedly say that he was planning to “shoot up” the school on Monday morning. A lockdown was put into place until an arrest warrant was issued and Wachta was arrested just before noon on Monday, April 9th. He is being held on $100,000 bond and will face charges in court on Tuesday.

Read MoreJust after midnight on Monday, April 9th, the Auburn Fire Department responded to a call reporting a shed on fire behind a mobile home located at 4 Breezy Bend. Fire crews found heavy fire coming the shed and extinguished it quickly. Deputy Chief Glenn Johnson said the residents were alerted to the fire by the glow coming from their backyard. They evacuated the home and called 911. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters. An additional shed and one mobile home were damaged from the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation. This is the second fire on Breezy Bend in recent months, the last report was at 21 Breezy Bend in late February.

The suspect is seen running out of the building in the photo above. Police say a black firearm was shown during the robbery. The subject fled in a brown Buick headed towards Southbridge. The car had no visible license plates according to the surveillance photo above. Officer Garrett Danna is investigating this case with assistance of the Postal Inspectors Office.
