Just before 9PM last night, Connecticut State Troopers from the Quality of Life Task Force/Troop D stopped a vehicle on Grove Street in Putnam for a motor vehicle violation. When Troopers approached the vehicle and interviewed the driver they requested consent to search the vehicle.  During the search, Troopers located and seized numerous rocks of crack cocaine; each pre-packaged for street level sales inside the vehicle. 36 year old Henry “Hank” Tyus of 160 Farrows Street in Putnam was placed under arrest and transported to Troop D.  Tyus was charged with Possession of Narcotics, Possession of Narcotics with intent to sell and Failure to Signal. Registered Democrats in Dudley will hold a caucus on Tuesday, February 6th in Room 321c at the Dudley Municipal Complex, located at 71 West Main Street, to elect delegates and alternates to the 2018 Mass Democratic State Convention. Registration begins at 5:30 PM and the Caucus will begin at 6PM. On Monday January 8th, the North Brookfield Police Department received a telephone call from Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge  reporting that they had just transferred a 35 year old man to UMass Medical Center in Worcester for further treatment of a gunshot wound to the side of his abdomen. According to the police report, this shooting incident took place on Friday, January 5th at around 10PM. Residents of Dudley & Webster, be on the lookout for a cute little lovebird named Otis.  Her owner Jill tells us that she flew out of her door yesterday afternoon in the area of 3rd Avenue in Dudley and has not returned home since. The town of Dudley reminds residents that “open burning season” begins on Monday, January 15th. A permit must be obtained from the fire department if you plan on burning any items outdoors.  As weather conditions change daily, and can change rapidly especially in the spring, fire wardens will determine on a daily basis when it is safe to conduct open burning. If winds kick up or other atmospheric conditions change suddenly, making it unsafe to burn, permits can be rescinded for the day an no burning permitted. On January 11, 2018 at approximately 4:30 pm, Connecticut State Troopers were informed of an outstanding arrest warrant drafted by officials from the Thompson Town Hall for a Zoning Violation. The arrest warrant application alleged that 32 year old Darnell Delouis was operating an illegal auto dealership from his residence on Riverside Drive in Thompson. Troopers on patrol spotted Delouis driving on Riverside Drive in Thompson in a vehicle that he was trying to sell.  Troopers stopped the vehicle and immediately placed him under arrest.  Delouis was transported to Connecticut’s Troop D where he was processed and charged with C.G.S. 8-12, Zoning Violation. Yesterday afternoon at 4:30pm a male subject approached an off-duty Southbridge Police officer in the parking lot of Cumberland Farms and reported that he was just held at gunpoint after buying marijuana for a friend.   Police were immediately dispatched to the scene to investigate. The Walmart Company has decided to close the last remaining Sam’s Club in Massachusetts in the coming weeks. In a statement, a spokesperson for the company said, “After a thorough review of our existing portfolio, we’ve decided to close a series of clubs and better align our locations with our strategy. Closing clubs is never easy and we’re committed to working with impacted members and associates through this transition.” This means the Sam’s Club located at 1 Tobias Boland Way in Worcester will close by January 26th.  Some employees may be transferred to local Walmart stores but nothing official has been announced. Please keep an eye out for this missing person.  Friends and family of Justin Ramos have not heard from him or seen him since Sunday night. His last known whereabouts was on Valley Hill Drive in Worcester on January 7th.  According to friends, he left with a group of people and left his cell phone at home.  This is unusual for Justin to leave home for several days without being in contact with friends or family.
