An Uxbridge doctor and her former employee were arrested on Friday, November 16th, and charged in connection with a federal drug conspiracy involving the amphetamine Adderall. According to a press release shared by the Southborough Police Department, 56 year old Dr. Leslie Caraceni of Uxbridge, was indicted on one count of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute Adderall and three counts of distributing and dispensing Adderall. Her former employee, 51 year old Rene Ruliera of Southborough, was also indicted on one count of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute Adderall, and four counts of distributing and possessing with intent to distribute Adderall. Leicester Police say a 42 year old Worcester man was arrested after attempting to shoplift from a local store. Police responded to the store and found that the man also had a warrant out for his arrest.  Police say the man was taken into custody on the warrant and shoplifting charge.  When the officers searched his belongings, they found a replica gun and real bullets.  Another charge of possession of ammunition without and FID card was also added. The man’s name or the store was not made public by police.

District Attorney Joe Early Jr.’s office says an armed man who was shot by Auburn police officers on Wednesday has died. Joseph Loughery of Dublin, New Hampshire was shot by police after he ignored repeated commands by the officers to drop his weapon.  Loughery was approached by officers at about 1:15 p.m. while he was sitting in a truck in the parking area of the Shell gas station located at 380 Southbridge Street in Auburn. A report from the District Attorney’s offices says that Loughery was holding a sawed-off .22 caliber rifle.  Video was captured by a witness from across the street, where officers can be heard shouting, “drop the gun.”  No police officers were…

Southbridge Police have announced the arrest of 32 year old John Otero on Cross Street on October 29th. Police say he had two active warrants for his arrest out of Dudley District Court at the time he was spotted by officers. During a conversation with Otero, he admitted to being in possession of heroin and crack cocaine.  Police recovered a clear plastic bag containing approximately 18 grams of suspected crack cocaine packaged for distribution and approximately 140 packets of suspected heroin packaged for distribution. There is a heavy police presence in the area of Swanson Road in Auburn on Wednesday afternoon. Detectives from the Massachusetts State Police are on the scene investigating reports of an officer involved shooting.  At this time there are no reported injuries to any officers. The ramp from Route 290 to Swanson Road is closed at this time.  An investigation is underway by the Worcester Country District Attorney’s Office and Massachusetts State Police. Gina Giovangelo, the pregnant woman from Webster who was wanted by police on Cape Cod, has been taken into custody by police on Saturday. Yarmouth Police say the Webster Police Department was investigating a report of a suspicious female going through a purse in town.  Police interacted with the woman and determined her to be Giovangelo, even though she gave officers a fake name. The Webster Police Officer recognized her as the wanted suspect from Cape Cod and placed her under arrest.  Giovangelo is being held without bail.   On October 29th, a judge in Barnstable issued a no-bail warrant for her after she allegedly tested positive for heroin and left an inpatient drug treatment program for expectant…

Late Saturday night, Sutton Police were forced to close a portion of Boston Road in the area of St. Mark’s Church to Putnam Hill Road. A serious crash caused a utility pole to snap, causing power outages in the immediate area.  National Grid responded to the area and made repairs during the overnight. Sutton Police say the road will be closed until further notice.  Check their Facebook page for updates. On Wednesday afternoon, November 7th, the Webster Police Department are asking the public to be on the lookout for Sydney.  A black dog who was hit by a car at the intersection of Klebart Avenue and Crosby Street. Police say the dog took off into the nearby woods and may be injured.  Officers were unable to locate her after a search this afternoon. On Friday, November 2nd, The Southbridge Police Department along with members of the Southern Worcester County Counter Crime and Drug Task Force made several arrests linked to and investigation of heroin and cocaine distributors. Just after 5AM, five search warrants were executed simultaneously at 105 Cross Street, 573 Main Street and 3 different apartments at 99 Cross Street in Southbridge. With assistance from K-9 officer Pablo, more than 260 packets of suspected heroin packaged for distribution were recovered along with over 20 grams of suspected crack cocaine/cocaine packaged for distribution as well as marijuana packaged for distribution.
