Some happy news out of Dudley.  The small Chihuahua, Bella, who was reported missing on Monday morning has been safely returned home, thanks to help from the Dudley Police Department.  The Blanchette family also thanked their daughter Alycia for hearing about a dog running on the police scanner and went to pick her up a short time ago.   BELLA IS HOME !!!!! On Monday, September 17th, Connecticut State Police Troop D received a complaint from a homeowner that on Laporte Road in Thompson who reported that he was the victim of an armed robbery. Police say the man told them he was inside of his home, just after 8:30AM, when he was confronted by a white male in his early to mid 30s, approximately 5’6” to 5’8” tall, weighing between 130 and 150 pounds.  The suspect was described to be tan with dark colored eyes, short dark brown hair and dark facial hair, wearing a black baseball hat with white colored numbers and letters on the front of it.  He was also wearing a black hoodie sweatshirt, gray…

Congratulations are in order to all of the recent graduates of the Massachusetts State Police Municipal Academy.  About 80 officers from all over the state participated in the graduation ceremony at the academy in New Braintree on Friday, September 14th. The town of Webster welcomes new Officers Patrick Trainor, Daniel Mehlhouse, and Kaitlyn DiBuono.  The Dudley Police Department welcomes Officer James Mastrogiovanni, who worked part-time as a reserve police officer before joining the academy in April.  Dudley Police Chief Steven Wojnar says, “Officer Mastrogiovanni did very well during his training and will be a fine addition to the Dudley Police Department.” Southbridge had 2 graduates of the academy on Friday, welcoming Officers Ryan Sweeney and Jaylen…

First responders from Oxford Police and Oxford Fire/EMS were dispatched to Main Street (Route 12) at around 8:45PM on Friday, September 14th.  Several 911 calls were received about a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Main and Turner Road. Police say a 2017 Ford F-150 pickup truck was travelling south on Main Street towing a large message board hitched to the back of it.  The message board became unhooked from the truck while in motion and entered the northbound lane hitting a 2008 Audi.  The driver of the car was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Investigators believe the message board was improperly secured and the required safety chains were not used.  The…

SATURDAY NIGHT UPDATE: Oxford Police say the construction has finished ahead of schedule, and the roads are now all open. The Oxford Police Department has announced several road closures will begin on Friday, September 14th at 7PM. Main Street will close to all traffic in both directions at number 620.  Also detours will be in place on Route 12.  Southbound traffic will be diverted as the road closes at the intersection of Routes 12 and 56, and Northbound will be closed from Route 12 to Depot Road. Just before 4PM on Wednesday, September 12th, Millbury Police and Fire Departments, along with several other surrounding towns, responded to a serious multiple car crash on Route 146 Southbound near exit 8. A total of 6 vehicles, with 1 rolled over, and a tractor trailer were involved in the crash.  A portion of the truck was hanging over the center barrier of the north and southbound lanes. Two people were trapped inside their vehicles, and were extricated using the jaws of life, and transported to local hospitals with non life-threatening injuries.  All vehicles are in the process of being removed, and a fuel spill from the tractor trailer is being cleaned up.  Avoid the scene…

Southbridge Police were dispatched to Tipton Rock Road just after 11PM on Friday, September 7th.  They were sent there to investigate reports of a motorcycle being operated erratically. Officers observed 27 year old Matthew Bodwell of Milford riding without a helmet.  When speaking with police, he claimed someone had run him off of the road causing him to crash his motorcycle.  He also had previously called his brother to come pick him up at the scene. In addition to the earlier report of a possible threat at Bartlett High School, Oxford Police have also announced that a threat was made against Oxford High School on September 11th. As a result of the threat, a lockdown was put into place for both Oxford High School and Oxford Middle School while officers located the person of interest. The Oxford Police Department wants to make it clear that no students or staff were in possession of any firearms or contraband at either school. There was increased police presence at Webster’s Bartlett High School on September 11th due to a threat made against “BHS.” Superintendent of schools Ruthann Petruno-Goguen was made aware of a possible threat of gun violence against a school with the same initials as Bartlett High School.  “The Webster Police were immediately contacted and have confirmed that this threat came from out of state where an arrest has recently been made in Brunswick, Georgia.” she wrote in a letter sent home with students.
