Michael Blake, Dudley PoliceDudley Police tell THE LAKE 940 on Wednesday, February 10, 2021, just before 4 PM, officers were called to the Stevens Linen Mill, located at 8 Mill Street, for a report of a breaking & entering in progress. Upon arrival, officers observed 19-year-old Michael Blake of Worcester standing at a 3rd-floor window.  Police say that once the suspect saw the officers, he ran from the window back into the building.  Webster Police officers, including a K-9 unit, were called in to assist with the search. The Webster Public Schools will be closed for deep cleaning throughout the schools, starting tomorrow, March 13th until further notice according to a message from Superintendent Ruthann Goguen. The closure of Park Avenue Elementary, Webster Middle School and Bartlett High School is “due to the possible contact through a family member who may fall under the CDC guidelines for testing of COVID-19” (also known as Coronavirus.) All after-school activities have also been canceled for today as well. The school department is working with the Webster Board of Health for the safety of all students and employees.   Webster Police are being credited with stopping a speeding vehicle this week.  Just after 5PM on Thursday, March 5th police in Webster were alerted to a vehicle traveling in excess of 80 miles per hour on Route 16 that refused to stop for Douglas Police. When the speeding Dodge Neon crossed the line from Douglas into Webster, officers from Webster also attempted to pull over the vehicle. Another officer further down Route 16 by The Lodge restaurant tried to set up a tire deflation device, but because the car was going so fast the stop sticks were not deployed in time, according to police. Oxford Police have announced the arrest of 3 people after a motor vehicle stop during the early morning hours of Thursday, March 5.  The 2 females and 1 male were pulled over at the intersection of Main Street and Barton Street. Police say while officers were arresting the female driver of the vehicle for active arrest warrants, a male passenger fled from the front seat of the car. In addition to the Webster Police K-9, a drone from Auburn Police, assistance was also brought in from Charlton Police and the Massachusetts State Police. Webster Police say that just before 1PM on Thursday, February 27th a Dudley man was arrested after what was believed to be a drug transaction take place. A short time later, police made a motor vehicle stop and placed 34-year-old Mark McDonald into custody for Distribution of a Class B Substance (Crack Cocaine).  McDonald was transported back to the Webster Police Department where 17 grams of possible crack cocaine was located, as well as over $1000 cash. Police had McDonald’s vehicle towed to the Webster Police station, where a search warrant for it was executed. At around 2:30PM on February 27th, Oxford Fire-EMS received a call from someone reporting “smoke coming from the barn behind the residence of 33 Sacarrappa Road with no visible flames.” Deputy Chief Jon Belanger arrived on scene with crews and found a moderate amount of smoke coming from a two-story detached garage.  While some crews were attempting to extinguish the fire, others performed a search of the building.  During this search, a male was found unresponsive in the garage and was transported to Umass Memorial Trauma Center where he later died from his injuries. On October 4th, 2019, Webster Police responded to the parking lot of Mario’s Showplace where a male had been stabbed as the result of an altercation that occurred outside the business.  The victim did not know who had stabbed him, but police were able to obtain surveillance video of the incident. Since then, Webster Police Detectives have been investigating along with Detectives from Connecticut State Police, which resulted in the identification of two people involved in the stabbing. The two suspects are 42-year-old Brian Perez and 50-year-old Michael Nazario both of Putnam. Both Nazario and Perez have been charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon resulting in serious bodily injury, assault to kill, carrying…
