Michael Blake, Dudley PoliceDudley Police tell THE LAKE 940 on Wednesday, February 10, 2021, just before 4 PM, officers were called to the Stevens Linen Mill, located at 8 Mill Street, for a report of a breaking & entering in progress. Upon arrival, officers observed 19-year-old Michael Blake of Worcester standing at a 3rd-floor window. Police say that once the suspect saw the officers, he ran from the window back into the building. Webster Police officers, including a K-9 unit, were called in to assist with the search. Just after 5PM on Thursday, March 5th police in Webster were alerted to a vehicle traveling in excess of 80 miles per hour on Route 16 that refused to stop for Douglas Police. A short time later, police made a motor vehicle stop and placed 34-year-old Mark McDonald into custody for Distribution of a Class B Substance (Crack Cocaine). McDonald was transported back to the Webster Police Department where 17 grams of possible crack cocaine was located, as well as over $1000 cash. Read MoreAt around 2:30PM on February 27th, Oxford Fire-EMS received a call from someone reporting “smoke coming from the barn behind the residence of 33 Sacarrappa Road with no visible flames.” Deputy Chief Jon Belanger arrived on scene with crews and found a moderate amount of smoke coming from a two-story detached garage. While some crews were attempting to extinguish the fire, others performed a search of the building. During this search, a male was found unresponsive in the garage and was transported to Umass Memorial Trauma Center where he later died from his injuries. Read MoreOn October 4th, 2019, Webster Police responded to the parking lot of Mario’s Showplace where a male had been stabbed as the result of an altercation that occurred outside the business. The victim did not know who had stabbed him, but police were able to obtain surveillance video of the incident. Since then, Webster Police Detectives have been investigating along with Detectives from Connecticut State Police, which resulted in the identification of two people involved in the stabbing.
