Alana Inslee is just like every other fourth grader at Brookfield Elementary School.  She goes to class, she’s a girl scout, and even spends her afternoons at dance lessons.  What makes her unique, is that she has acrodysostosis and hydrocephalus. Acrodysostosis is a rare genetic disorder which causes growth delays and small hands and feet with shorter than normal fingers and toes.  Hydrocephalus is the buildup of fluid in the ventricles deep within the brain, which increases the size of the ventricles and puts pressure on the brain, leading to a larger than normal head. On Sunday afternoon, about 300 residents of Dudley are without power after a motor vehicle crash on Mason Road. National Grid was dispatched to the area around 1:30 PM.  Power was restored around 6PM. The road was closed for several hours after the accident while crews worked to clear the seen.  There is no word yet on any injuries or what may have caused this crash. Sutton Police say the manhunt continues this morning for a male that was reported missing from Hough Road on Friday. A family member called police after the adult man, whose name or age have not been released, did not return home on Thursday.  He was last seen driving an all terrain vehicle in the woods near the Sutton Senior Center. First responders are searching for the man on foot, with ATVs and with help from a drone. The Millbury Fire Department quickly extinguished an overnight car fire on The Mass Pike Eastbound just before 1AM on Saturday, October 6th. Heavy flames engulfed the engine area of the Toyota Camry from New York before Exit 10A in Millbury. There were no injuries reported, and traffic in the area is not affected this morning. On Thursday afternoon, October 4th, Detectives from the Southbridge Police Department executed a search warrant for narcotics at 23 Edwards Street in Southbridge. Police say the search warrant was the result of an ongoing investigation into the distribution of narcotics in the community. As a result of the search warrant, an amount of suspected cocaine packaged for distribution, several pills, and various narcotics distribution paraphernalia including digital scales, packaging material, plastic bags, boxes of sandwich bags and cutting agents were also recovered. 23 year old Edward R. Krise was charged with possession with intent to distribute class B cocaine and with possession of a class E substance (Alprazolam). Krise was held at Southbridge Police Headquarters…

  During a Worcester Police prostitution sting, a Webster man was placed under arrest after a drug transaction took place with an undercover officer. On Wednesday evening, October 3rd, members of the Vice Squad conducted surveillance in the Main South area.  The sting operation lead to the arrest of 11 men charged with offering to engage in sex for a fee. Worcester Police say at approximately 8:45 PM, a female decoy officer was approached by a male, later identified as 46 year old Michael MacDonald of Webster, offered to sell the undercover officer crack cocaine. A 911 call was placed just after 11PM on Wednesday, October 3rd reporting a person had been stabbed in the chest and stomach at an address on Windy Ridge Road in Webster. Police arrived to find a female, hysterical in the street, and a male victim outside covered in blood. Police say the male and female were in bed together when the suspect, 39 year old James Kelly of Webster entered the basement for what he thought was a prearranged meeting with the female to watch television.  When he went upstairs and found them, Kelly assaulted the female and then stabbed the male and fled the residence.   Deputy Chief Mike Shaw of the Webster Police Department tells THE LAKE 940 that on Wednesday afternoon, at 1:40PM, a crash involving a motorcycle and an automobile was reported to the Southern Worcester County Communications Center.  Webster Police, Fire, and EMS responded to the scene. The operator of the car, a 26 year old female from Webster and the operator of the motorcycle, a 61 year old male from Sutton, were transported to local hospitals.  Neither injuries appeared to be life threatening according to police. Officers from The Webster Police Department were stationed at 5 locations between 7 and 10AM, including The Webster Police Station, 357 Main Street; both Dunkin Donuts locations at 128 Main Street and 170 Thompson Road, and both Honey Dew locations at 113 East Main Street and 188 Gore Road.
