Electronic roadside signs estimate almost an hour to travel 5 miles. A crash in the left lane before exit 16 is being cleared and speeds are expected to get back to normal soon. This is also causing extreme backups on Route 20 and Southbridge Street through the side streets of Auburn as motorists are trying to use alternate routes.

Water Superintendent Greg Woods tells us a water main break at 25 Myrtle Avenue occurred around 7AM. Read MoreAfter Sutton Police alerted residents to take it slow on Central Turnpike due to road construction, it seems someone didn’t get that message on Friday. One man, who’s name was not released, was arrested after the pickup truck he was driving crashed into a telephone pole on Central Turnpike by Lincoln Road. He was charged with marked lane violation and operating under the influence of liquor. Sutton Police also say a second man was arrested in an unrelated case on Friday night, May 4th, for unauthorized use of a vehicle after a resident reported their car was stolen.
