3 Arrested For Heroin Trafficking In Sturbridge

Just after midnight on Thursday, October 18th, Massachusetts State Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 84 in Sturbridge, which led to the arrest of three people for trafficking in heroin.

A Honda CRV was spotted speeding and repeatedly drifting over lane markings, according to police.  Shortly after being pulled over, police determined the driver, 27 year old Juan Jaquez of Lynn, or his occupants could confirm who owned the vehicle.

With the help of K-9 Boomah, approximately 2.5 kilograms of a substance believed to be heroin was located inside the vehicle.  Troopers additionally located and seized approximately $850 in cash.

Jaquez and his two passengers, 38 year old Yanet Lopez Mendoza and 49 year old Daniel Rivera-Rosario, both from Lynn, were placed under arrest for trafficking in heroin. Jaquez was additionally cited for speeding and marked lanes violations.  All were booked at the State Police barracks in Sturbridge and held pending their arraignment in Dudley District Court.
