Years in town: 72

Education: Degrees in Radiologic Technology and Computer Science, 3 yrs MA College of Pharmacy

Occupation: retired 5 years ago as Director of a number of Clinical Service Departments.

Municipal experience: Finance Committee 3 yrs (chairman 2 yrs), second Town Administrator Screening Committee, Chairman Charter Review Committee  Currently: selectmen representative on the CMRPC (Central Mass Regional Planning Committee), Chairman of the newly formed Webster Water and Sewer Commission, member Memorial Beach Committee.

Civic involvement: Support and attend recreational events, support local businesses and attend many public meetings

Fun fact about yourself: I love to read and cook (and eat).

Favorite thing about Webster:  The beauty of the lake and the small town community spirit.

Why did you decide to run for this position?  Passion and pride. I have good managerial and leadership experience. This, coupled with my strong customer service skills has allowed me contribute significantly to the various town  committees I have been a member of.  I feel that I have accomplished a number of improvements for the town, just in the past 5 years.  I feel that this is just a natural progression in terms of giving back to the community.

What issues facing the Board do you feel you can contribute most to?  A disconnect between Town leaders and the community has grown to the point where civic involvement is alarmingly low.  The board is polarized and needs to refocus.  The board also needs to review the master plan which is 5 years old, and set new goals for the next 5 years.

What experience do you bring to the table that can be most beneficial?  In addition to what I have already stated, I have attended the Disney program for providing world class customer service.  It was a week long program.  Many big national and international service  companies have adopted the Disney approach to quality customer service.  The skills that I learned have been invaluable throughout my career and it has carried into my civic involvement.

Why should Webster vote for you on May 6th?

I have the passion, pride professionalism and dedication to contribute to the betterment of our community.  I believe in a holistic approach to community, which supports the idea that the whole is greater than the sum of it’s parts.
