While there are many opportunities for joy and celebration during the holidays, it’s also a very difficult time of the year for many. Short gloomy days and long nights can aggravate feelings of sadness and season depression. Family and financial tensions mount, that empty chair at the table brings sorrow and the extra demands of work and other commitments can make the season seem more like a slog than a time of comfort and joy.
