Troopers from the Connecticut State Police have announced the arrest of 23 year old Kyle Carrero after a traffic stop on Route 395 on the Thompson/Putnam line.

Police say they pulled his car over on November 24th after he was spotted traveling 81 mph in a 65 mph zone of the highway.  Carrero originally gave police a false name, but a trooper who has arrested him on speeding and narcotics charges in the past was able to positively identify him.

The Quality of Life Task Force (Troop D) with the Connecticut State Police say, “indicators of narcotic activity were observed and consent was granted to search Carrero’s vehicle.”  After the search, over a half kilogram of a controlled substance and $5,000 cash were seized by police.

Carrero was placed under arrest and charged with interfering with an officer, criminal impersonation, possession of a controlled substance 2nd offense, and sale of narcotics subsequent offense.

He was released on $12,000 cash/bond and is expected to appear at the Danielson Superior Court on December 6th.
