NY Man Arrested In Connection To MA Forgery Scheme

On Thursday February 1st, at approximately 9PM, Trooper’s Ethan Hillman and Benjamin Gelb of the Massachusetts State Police Barracks in Sturbridge stopped a Honda Accord on Route 84 eastbound in the town of Holland, for traveling with its high beams on affecting heavy traffic.

The driver was a 23 year old male from Brooklyn, New York.  He was found to be operating on a suspended license and was placed under arrest.

During the towing inventory, seven counterfeit $100 dollar bills were located along with numerous credit cards and an ATM card reader also known as a skimmer.  Numerous bags of merchandise with receipts totaling $18,041.78 were also located.

The driver was brought to the Sturbridge Barracks for booking and charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, forgery of documents, uttering counterfeit notes, possession of contrivance designed to create a credit instrument and failure to dim headlights.

The US Secret Service assisted the Troopers in the positive identification of the counterfeit money and credit cards.
