State Police Searching For SUV That Dragged Trooper In Webster

Massachusetts State Police units are currently searching for suspects and a vehicle that fled a motor vehicle stop on Chase Avenue in Webster.  As the driver fled, the sport utility vehicle dragged the Trooper who had pulled it over for a short distance.

The Trooper stopped the SUV, with a male driver and female passenger, in the area of 26 Chase Avenue in Webster at approximately 12:25 PM on Friday, August 17th. While the Trooper was on foot at the side of the car, the vehicle accelerated away and dragged the Trooper for a short distance. The vehicle then fled on Chase Avenue toward Dudley.

The suspect vehicle is a green 2008 Honda Pilot, with Massachusetts license 9CKG50. The operator is a male, believed to be 27 years old and from Fitchburg. The passenger, who is the vehicle’s owner, is believed to be a 40 year old woman from Dudley. Both are the subjects of outstanding criminal warrants.

The Trooper, who is assigned to the Sturbridge Barracks was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with injuries believed to be non-life threatening.

Anyone who sees vehicle should call 911. A ‘Be On The Lookout’ has been sent to all Troop C barracks, surrounding local police departments, and Connecticut State Police. The State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section is also assisting in the search.
