On Saturday, December 9, at 12:16 pm, Webster Police responded to Nelson Street, for a reported disturbance involving a knife.

Officers arrived to find the victim with what appeared to be multiple, serious lacerations to her neck and legs. Her ex-boyfriend, Zachary Orlowski, 28, 10 Sterns Street Worcester, was immediately placed into custody. Orlowski had apparently also cut his own neck in an apparent suicide attempt after attacking his ex-girlfriend, and was unresponsive at the scene. The couple’s four year old son was in the residence when this occurred, but was unharmed. The Department of Children and Families was contacted and is investigating.

Orlowski’s mother was injured as well trying to separate Orlowski and the victim during the attack. Both Orlowski and the victim were transported to UMass hospital, where the victim is still admitted. Orlowski was released to Webster Police Custody.

Orlowski’s mother was transported to Harrington Hospital in Webster where she was treated and released.

Orlowski and the victim were no longer dating, however they did have a child in common. The victim did a have a protective order against Orlowski.

Neither the victim, nor Orlowski resided at the address, and the investigation shows that this attack appeared to have been planned out by Orlowski beforehand.

As a result Orlowski was charged with: Armed Assault with the Intent to Murder, Two Counts of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Violating an abuse prevention order and Assault and Battery.  He was arraigned today at Dudley District Court.
