Fire crews from all over the area were hard at work on Monday afternoon battling a 2 alarm fire that destroyed a home on Millbury Road in Oxford.

Heavy smoke could be seen in the area and damage appears to be extensive.   The Oxford Fire Department says the original call came in just after 3PM.  The residents were not home at the time.

A tanker shuttle was set up to provide an adequate water supply for the incident.  The fire was brought under control about an hour later, but crews did not clear the scene until almost 8PM.  There are two adults that have been displaced from this fire.  Fire officials report 2 out of the 3 dogs living at the home are accounted for.  A small Chihuaha mix dog is missing.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.  The property was deemed a total loss with approximately $125,000 in damage.
