8 Arrested In Southbridge Drug Busts
On Friday, November 2nd, The Southbridge Police Department along with members of the Southern Worcester County Counter Crime and Drug Task Force made several arrests linked to and investigation of heroin and cocaine distributors.
Just after 5AM, five search warrants were executed simultaneously at 105 Cross Street, 573 Main Street and 3 different apartments at 99 Cross Street in Southbridge.
With assistance from K-9 officer Pablo, more than 260 packets of suspected heroin packaged for distribution were recovered along with over 20 grams of suspected crack cocaine/cocaine packaged for distribution as well as marijuana packaged for distribution.
In addition to numerous digital scales and a live round of ammunition, detectives also found more than $6,000 in cash, suspected to have been proceeds from the ongoing trafficking and sale of narcotics in the area.
The 8 people arrested are as follows:
29 year old Jose Vargas of Quincy, held on an outstanding arrest warrant for attempting to run over a Southbridge police officer on October 18th.
24 year old Giovanni Luis Torres of Southbridge, charged with possession with intent to distribute class B crack cocaine and conspiracy to violate the drug law, also held on two outstanding arrest warrants.
27 year old Miguel Deleon of Southbridge, charged with possession with intent to distribute class B crack cocaine and possession with intent to distribute class A heroin.
36 year old Yilda Mercado Agostini of Southbridge, charged with possession with intent to distribute class A heroin.
28 year old Hector Rojas of Southbridge, charged with possession with intent to distribute class B crack cocaine and conspiracy to violate the drug law.
34 year old Joel Morales of Southbridge, charged with conspiracy to violate the drug law.
21 year old Luis Miranda of Southbridge, charged with possession with intent to distribute class B crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute class D marijuana, unlawful possession of ammunition and conspiracy to violate the drug law.
56 year old Cruz Rivera of Southbridge, charged with possession with intent to distribute class B crack cocaine and with conspiracy to violate the drug law.
All 8 were held at Southbridge Police Headquarters and arraigned in Dudley District Court on Friday afternoon.
