NBC 10 Investigates Oxford Town Manager
NBC 10 Boston’s Investigative Team has been in Oxford for the last 3 months trying to uncover information about Town Manager Brian Palaia. They report that he has been on paid leave for the last week, while the Board of Selectmen is trying to terminate his employment.
It had come to the attention of the Board of Selectmen that Palaia was drinking while on the job and using a town owned car, possibly while intoxicated.
The television station reports Palaia failed a random alcohol test late last month. An emergency meeting was held on Tuesday morning to discuss Palaia’s future with the town, but so far the results of that meeting have not been made public.
This ongoing situation has been on the record in town dating back to at least October 2017. Palaia was hired in by a unanimous vote of the Oxford Select Board in December 2014.
