Detectives Investigate Attempted Robbery At Worcester ATM
On Thursday morning, February 22nd at about 9:15 AM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to the Bank of America ATM at 490 Lincoln Street for a report of an attempted robbery. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the female victim, who parked her vehicle and went to withdraw money from the ATM. When she returned to her vehicle and got into the driver’s seat, she felt something against her neck and a voice behind her demand money.
The male suspect had climbed into the backseat of the victim’s vehicle when she got out of her car to get the money. The male said that he had a gun and that she had to give him all her money. The victim began to yell for help, and an employee of the ATM servicing company came over to assist her. The suspect fled the scene, and has not been located yet. The suspect is described as a black male, 5’9” tall with a scruffy beard, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.
