Early Morning Fire Closes Schofield Avenue In Dudley

Due to a structure fire at an apartment building at 12 Schofield Avenue in Dudley this morning, the section of Schofield Avenue (Route 12) between Brandon Road and West Main Street was closed to traffic for several hours. Please avoid the area and seek an alternate route.
The fire began around 2AM in the multi-family home. All residents were able to get out safely. Crews from Webster, Southbridge and other communities assisted in putting out the fire. There were no injuries reported and the cause is under investigation by the Dudley Fire Department.
