GET YOUR LOCAL ON: Lauri Joseph From Blessed Backpack Brigade

Blessed Backpack Brigade (Lauri is in the center with other volunteers)

One of our favorite local organizations, The Blessed Backpack Brigade, was started in 2016 by Paul and Lauri Joseph after learning of the large population of homeless individuals in the Webster area.  On the second and fourth Wednesday of every month the brigade, made up of volunteers, hosts free fellowship meals at the American Legion in Webster that serves between 100 and 150 people.

This year, on the last day of school a backpack drive was held, but donations and volunteers are always welcome to help.  Lauri Joseph sat down with Tamara Beland on this week’s episode of Get Your Local On to tell us more about the organization, and give a special thank you to all of the volunteers and area businesses that allow the BBB to help those who truly need it in the Webster/Dudley area.
