Dr. Peter Cushing, new principal of Bartlett High School

On Wednesday, June 6th, Superintendent of Webster Public Schools Ruthann Goguen announced, Dr. Peter Cushing has been hired as the next Principal of Bartlett High School.  Dr. Cushing will be joining the Webster Public Schools on July 1.  Superintendent Goguen said, “we look forward to welcoming him to our community.”

Dr. Cushing recently spent some time at Bartlett meeting students and staff members and will be arriving in Webster from the Narragansett Regional School District in Templeton, where he has served as the middle school principal and the assistant high school principal.  Prior to that Dr. Cushing also taught high school history in Lynn and Arlington before entering administration.

Superintendent Goguen is also going to be looking for a new principal for Park Avenue Elementary as Mrs. Ginger Coleman recently resigned.  Patty MacKay is acting principal through the end of this school year.   Bartlett’s Dean Of Students, Eric Tracey is also leaving for an assistant principal job in Northbridge.

Other changes at local schools include staff retirement of Bartlett history teacher Tom Gorski and Webster Middle School nurse Patricia LaPete.

In her latest newsletter, Superintendent Goguen wrote, “I would like to thank our community and families for their ongoing supports throughout this school year.  I am continually impressed with the level of support our students and schools receive within our community.”
