On Friday, March 2nd after students were dismissed from school, the Worcester Police received notice of a threat involving a possible shooting at a school in Worcester.  At the time, the information was very vague.  Since then, detectives spent the weekend investigating and tracked down more information.  After an extensive investigation, they focused on a 14 year old student who attends the South High School.

The Worcester Police Department worked with school officials and city administrators to ensure the safety of the students in classrooms as several officers and city officials were present at South High on Monday.

Fellow students reported that the 14 year old male had been involved in verbal conflicts with other students at the school, when he became upset and made threats to shoot students in the school.  On Monday March 5th detectives spoke with school administrators, who reported that the student admitted to them that he had made the threats.  At this point, the 14 year old male was placed under arrest for false report of a firearm and will he be arraigned in Worcester Juvenile Court.
