The Town of Webster has received designation as a “Green Community” by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, Department of Energy Resources.

In a press release, the town says they have “worked hard” to meet the criteria aimed at helping to cut municipal energy costs and strengthen the local economy, access grants for clean, affordable, and resilient energy projects, encourage environmentally friendly economic development,
reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote energy‐efficient building construction that drives the market for better built and lower cost
homes.

They are also helping to foster renewable energy and clean energy technologies and have been working on becoming a clean energy leader and a better place to live, work, and raise a family.

Through the Green Communities Designation and Grant Program, Webster received an initial grant of $180,885 to help meet their objective to create a cleaner energy future for the Town and the State of Massachusetts.  Funding for additional projects is available to the Town as they continue to design projects beneficial to the environment and the Town of Webster.

Congratulations! We are so proud to call Webster home.
