Webster Police Arrest 3 For Armed Robbery At Southbridge Supermarket

On Friday, July 27th at around 7:30PM, Southbridge Police was called to the parking lot at Big Y Supermarket located at 505 East Main Street to investigate the report of an armed robbery.  A caller told dispatch the three suspects were seen in a gold Chevy Malibu or Impala.

The victim told police he was waiting in his vehicle with his 9 month old daughter, when male subject pulled up to the passenger side of the victim’s vehicle.  A second male removed the victim’s car keys, while a third male reportedly pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded money.

The 3 suspects fled the area after one of the men punched the victim, who was not seriously injured.

A ‘be on the lookout’ was immediately issued to area police departments for the vehicle and a short time later, members of the Webster Police Department pulled the vehicle over, arrested the 3 occupants and recovered the firearm suspected to have been used during the robbery.

The property stolen during the commission of the armed robbery was also recovered.  Southbridge Police say 28 year old Trent Nicholopolous of 43 Hillside Avenue in Webster was charged with armed robbery joint venture and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.  Also arrested was 27 year old Christopher Say of 19 Nelson Street in Webster, charged with armed robbery joint venture, and 40 year old Phillip Smith of 121 Whipple Street in Worcester was charged with armed robbery joint venture, assault & battery and intimidation of a witness.

All three were held at Southbridge Police Headquarters pending their release on bail and/or their arraignment in Dudley District Court on Monday July 30th.  The Webster Police Department also charged them with various firearm violations.
