Days before Christmas, 6 families are now without a place to live after a 5 Alarm fire destroyed their home in the Fiskdale section of Sturbridge.  Firefighters spent several hours putting out the blaze at 23 Brookfield Road late last night.

The multi-family apartment building was destroyed and left uninhabitable.  Crews from surrounding fire departments were called in for mutual aid, including Brimfield, Warren and Charlton.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Sturbridge Coffee House located at 407 Main Street is collecting donations for the families.

So many great donations, gift cards, $$, and 5 bags of clothing collected so far. #thankyoueveryone for all your support. Let's keep it going #supportlocalfriends
