After a day-long search, Massachusetts State Police and Worcester Police arrested the man who was wanted in connection to an overnight armed carjacking on Route 290.

The suspect, 28 year old Donald Foy of Spencer, was taken into custody Thursday evening after another short chase and foot pursuit that ended on the roof of a building in Worcester.  Police say Foy rammed at least one cruiser tonight before the chase ended.

Early this morning, police in Webster and Oxford connected Foy as the driver of a pickup truck that fled a traffic stop with two female passengers.  After police deployed stop sticks, Foy drove the truck the wrong way down Route 290 and crashed.  Once he exited the vehicle brandishing a handgun, police say he forced the driver of a Buick Enclave from another vehicle and sent police on a second chase.  That pursuit was called off near Kelley Square a few minutes later.

The Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section had been searching for Foy and received a tip that he may be hiding in Worcester.  Troopers set up surveillance of the location and observed him exit a residence and get into a vehicle.  Police pursued this vehicle for a short time before he was taken into custody on the roof of a nearby building.

More information on the arrest is expected soon.
