Fight Leads To Stabbing In Webster, 2 Arrested

On Wednesday afternoon, May 8th, just after 1:30 PM Webster Police were called to a reported fight in the area of Pearl and Wall Street.

Officers responded to the area and encountered a male on North Main Street at the intersection of Wall Street. The male was the victim of an apparent stabbing.  Another male with facial injuries consistent with being in a fight was also found nearby.

After an initial investigation, Police learned there were two groups fighting, consisting of approximately 10 people.

Based upon victim statements, witness statements and other information and evidence gathered, Police decided to focus on 2 suspects on Pearl Street.

Later that night, just after 10 PM, Webster Police arrested 21-year-old Antonio Baretto III of South Grafton and 21-year-old Gyovanny Israel Colon of Worcester. Baretto and Colon were held overnight on $5,040.00 cash bail and were arraigned today in Dudley District Court

Baretto was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (knife), serious bodily injury, attempted murder, assault to murder and conspiracy.  Colon was also charged with those crimes, as well as witness intimidation.

Webster EMS and transported the stabbing victim to a hospital in Worcester, and Dudley EMS transported the Wall Street assault and battery victim to the hospital in Webster.

Police say this investigation is ongoing and did not reveal the names of the victims.
