The Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles has announced applications for the 2018 Low Number Plate Lottery are now being accepted online or by mail.
Registrar Erin Deveney said, “We are pleased to once again offer low plate vehicle numbers through a lottery system. We always have a high level of demand for license plates with very few numbers or very few letters.”
This year, there are 201 plates up for grabs through the lottery including 1400, 2558, 4J, Y4, 55Z, 77V, and Z81.
Last year the Registry received over 11,000 applications, for 162 plates. The RMV says that applications must be received online or be postmarked by August 28 in order for the applicant to be eligible.
Winners will be announced on September 15th and names will be posted on the RMV website.
