Motorcyclist Hospitalized After Striking Deer On Route 395 In Oxford

In the early morning hours of Thursday, July 4th, Police, Fire and EMS departments from Oxford were called to Interstate 395 north just before exit 5 for the report of a motorcycle crash.  Oxford Fire-EMS says, “the motorcyclist was struck by a deer while traveling on the highway.”

Crews responded to the wooded area off the highway and admininstered emergency care at the scene.  The patient was then loaded onto a scoop stretcher, according to officials, and then transported to a local hospital.

The extent of the injuries are not known at this time.
