3 Alarm Fire On Chase Avenue In Webster

At around 2:30AM crews were called to 56 Chase Avenue in Webster for a fire that quickly escalated to a 3 alarm blaze.

No injuries were reported and at least 6 residents were displaced as a result of the fire.

Brenda Waleski, who lived on the second floor told Boston 25 News she heard a popping noise and smelled smoke.  She woke up the family on the first floor, including a couple and a baby, and evacuated the building with her children.

Mutual aid from from Douglas, Dudley, Charlton, Oxford, Southbridge, Sutton and Quinebaug also helped get the fire under control.

The fire is believed to have started on the first floor, but most of the damage was on the second floor.

The cause of the fire is under investigation but is likely electrical in nature.

 

Companies are on scene on Chase Ave with a structure fire. A 3rd alarm has been struck.
