On Wednesday morning just after 9:30, a 9-1-1 call was received by a couple who were in distress on Webster Lake.

The pair reported that their sailboat had capsized while out on Middle Pond.  Webster Fire, Webster EMS and Webster Police were dispatched to respond.

This call for help marked this season’s first response for Webster Police’s Boat Marine 1, Captained by Detective Christopher Trainor with the assistance of First Mate, Webster EMS Chief Gary Milliard and Second Mate, Lieutenant Tobby Wheeler.

The stranded male and female were safely rescued and brought to shore while the boat was flipped back over and towed to shore.

In a post on Facebook, Webster Police say, “This is yet another example of your Emergency Services (SWCCC, WPD, WEMS and WFD) working together as one to provide the Community of Webster with the service and commitment they deserve.”

Below are a few more pictures taken by Webster Police Deputy Chief Mike Shaw after the sailboat was righted.

Thank you Webster Police for making Webster a safe place to work and live.
