Hot Costumes, 175 Main Street, Webster MA
Hot Costumes has been located in downtown Webster for over a dozen years, and if you haven’t gone into the 175 Main Street location yet, you’re missing out. If you have shopped there in the past, it is time to go back to see what’s new.
Not only are they one of the areas only year-round costume, prop and accessory shops, they offer more than just Halloween costumes. The store specializes in party decor, including balloons in all shapes and sizes, paper goods and more.
This will be Victoria Jewell’s 7th Halloween working in the store, her 3rd Halloween as an owner, and first year as solo owner.
As you can imagine, October is one of her busiest months, but she tells us, “For the rest of the year we still sell costumes, props, make up, masks, and accessories for events like Comic Con.” After Halloween is over, Hot Costumes shifts to accessories and costumes for almost every other holiday. “For Christmastime we sell high quality and affordable Santa suits, along with Mrs. Claus, elf outfits, and the Grinch, of course.”
If you are having a party, Halloween, Christmas, birthday or otherwise, Hot Costumes offers balloon decor and art and even the hard to find balloon columns and arches. They can customize colors and sizes and deliver them and set them up for you, too. Victoria says, “we will sit with you and discuss what you want your balloons to look like and try to create the vision in your head.” From a few decorations, to a whole party decorated, the staff at Hot Costumes has you covered, just be sure you give them a little advance notice.
Back to costumes, the earlier you shop the better, so you can get the best selection. Even though new items arrive all the time, it isn’t always easy to special order a costume this late in the season, but Victoria says her team is usually able to piece together something using other costumes, accessories and makeup already in stock.
Hot Costumes guarantees you will not find a better price on a costume anywhere else. Not only will they match valid competitors coupons, they will also price match another store’s advertised price for the same costume. If you stop in now through Wednesday, October 17th all props are on sale buy one get one 30 percent off. Victoria says, “We always strive to not only have the coolest most original inventory, but also inventory that customers can afford and love at the same time!”
Because of the nature of the products sold, Hot Costumes does not accept returns or exchanges. “For this reason we always ask at check out if you have inspected your costume and made sure everything is okay!” Dressing rooms are on site and you are encouraged to try on your costume or mask to ensure that everything is exactly what you want before you pay for it and leave the store.
The goal of Hot Costumes is for the customer to find the costume they LOVE and you can’t do that by simply looking at a picture of someone else, “We want them to try it and really love it.” Victoria tells us, “We always have attendees at the dressing rooms helping you and attending to your every need, almost like a personal shopper,” without being pushy or getting in the way.
Another thing Victoria is proud of, this year even more sizes are available, ranging from newborn baby all the way up to 4X. From sexy to scary, Hot Costumes now has a bigger and better selection of plus size costumes. Local teens will also be glad to know the store has even more of their popular favorites, including super heroes and Disney princesses. Also popular among teens is masks that could be used as purge costumes with LED lights and costumes from popular video games. Hot Costumes also offers some teen sizes, for teens that are not quite kids but also not adult size.
“We love helping customers create their dream costume and pride ourselves on having the best customer service qualities around!”
