Police Searching For Armed Man In Spencer
Monday 7PM Update: This suspect still has not been apprehended.
After searching in the woods near Paxton Road for approximately 5 hours last night, police called off their search for the suspect. Police are still looking for 38 year old Steven Patchen of Warren, Massachusetts. Spencer Police say he has an active warrant for a previous violation of a restraining order. Patchen was armed with a long gun and made threats to harm himself and then fled into the woods on foot.
Members of the Spencer Police, Mass State Police, CEMLEC Swat Team, and the Mass State Police Air Wing conducted an extensive search of the area. At 9:15PM the search was called off as no contact or sign of him had been found. Patchen is believed to be a danger only to himself, but if you have any information on his whereabouts you are asked to call the Spencer Police Department at (508) 885-6333.

The Massachusetts State Police, Airwing Division and Swat Teams are assisting Spencer Police in the search of an armed man who ran into the woods.
Very few details have been given so far, but the search teams are in the area of 173 Paxton Road, Debbie Drive, and McCormick Road. The male was last dressed in camouflage and is said to be wanted for warrants. His identity or description has not been made public yet.
Police say the man left a nearby home following a dispute, and walked into the woods with a gun.
You are urged to avoid this area and if you live nearby please keep your doors locked and call police if you notice any suspicious activity.
