Webster Police Seize $30,000 Worth Of Cocaine Mailed To Granite Street

The Webster Police Department have intercepted a kilogram of cocaine that was sent through the U.S. Postal Service.
In a press release, Chief of Police Mike Shaw said the department received an anonymous tip. Detective Christopher Trainor, who is also a member of the DEA High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force in Worcester, conducted an investigation which resulted in the arrest of 46-year-old Lisandro Bermudez Negron of Springfield.
After striking a parked car and a brief struggle, officers were able to arrest Negron on Granite Street in Webster. He was charged with trafficking cocaine over 200 grams. It estimated to be worth $30,000.
Negron was held on $5040 bail at the Webster Police Department. He was arraigned in Dudley District Court today.
This is the second kilo of cocaine the Webster Police have seized this year. The first was back in February when police arrested Alexander Torres at 36 Lake Street.
